Build a Raingarden at Your Home
This workshop will introduce you to the Blue Thumb – Planting for Clean Water Program and provide an overview of raingarden basics, including where to site a raingarden in your yard, how to determine the best size for your garden and what plants to use.
A copy of the Blue Thumb Guide to Raingardens book is included in the class registration fee.
Raingardens not only help to keep our lakes and rivers clean, but also provide many other benefits. They help to control erosion, wet spots and other drainage issues in your yard, and also attract birds and butterflies.
Registration required.
This workshop is supported locally by the Brown's Creek and Middle St. Croix Watersheds and City of Stillwater. The Washington Conservation District will provide free site visits after the workshop to help make dream gardens a reality, and people living in high priority areas may even qualify for grants to install raingardens.
