St. Louis Park—L2L: Healthy Soils

April 9, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$15
Lawns to Legumes - Your yard can bee the change

Following guidelines from the CDC and Minnesota Department of Health, in an effort to limit the spread of Covid-19, and for the safety of our staff, volunteers, registrants, and the larger community, this workshop will be held at its scheduled time online, through a simple live webinar format. Further information and instructions will be shared with all registrants.

A 2-hour workshop focused on laying the groundwork for healthy soil. Healthy soil helps plants thrive, filters and cleans water, prevents erosion and is teeming with life. Participants learn why healthy soil is the foundation of a resilient yard and how to take action to strengthen and protect their soil. Includes information about pollinator-friendly (bee) lawns and Lawns to Legumes, a new state program offering grants and other support to help Minnesota residents create habitat for the endangered rusty patched bumblebee and other at-risk pollinators. The presentation is followed by a short discussion/Q&A about common challenges and solutions.

Scholarships for this workshop are available upon request—please call (651) 699-2426 to sign up. This workshop is presented by Metro Blooms on behalf of Blue Thumb and MN BWSR’s Lawns to Legumes program, and is supported by the City of Saint Louis Park.
