SUMMARY:Planting for Clean Water - Shorelines: RCWD
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an in-person workshop hosted at Moore Lake Park in Fridley. This hands-on workshop will focus on planning and planting a shoreline buffer. We will also discuss protecting your new plantings from herbivore pressure and install some protection measures together. Designers from Metro Blooms Design+Build will be on-hand to walk through the steps of assessing your site and planning your project and then together we will get our hands in the dirt to install some shoreline plants. Staff from Rice Creek Watershed District\, City of Fridley\, and Anoka county will also be on-site to answer any of your questions while we plant. \nParticipants will receive a Resilient Shorelines workbook and access to our accompanying online learning series to review at any time. \nThis workshop is hosted by the Rice Creek Watershed District. DESCRIPTION:Learn all about how water moves across residential landscapes and how every yard and garden can have an impact on improving water quality. Designers from Metro Blooms Design+Build will walk through the steps of assessing your yard\, directing water runoff\, installing a rain barrel\, siting a rain garden and more. \nFollowing the presentation\, attendees will have the chance to meet with landscape designers and master gardeners to discuss a project on their specific property. We will use photos and county GIS maps to virtually view properties. \nAttendees will also receive information about Richfield-Bloomington Watershed Management Organization’s upcoming grant program for residential rain gardens! Learn how residents and businesses will be able to apply for funding to install rain gardens in the Richfield-Bloomington Watershed. \nThis workshop is hosted by the Richfield-Bloomington Watershed Management Organization.
