DESCRIPTION:Blue Thumb’s Turf Alternatives Workshop is your “how-to” guide on transforming your yard into a pollinator’s paradise! \nLearn about the steps to converting a traditional turfgrass monoculture lawn into a beautiful\, flowering bee lawn. The workshop will also cover other turf alternatives that promote pollinator health\, water quality\, and natural resource conservation. The live presentation is followed by a Q&A session. \nParticipants will also receive access to online resources that will assist them in their project\, including a series of video presentations\, downloadables\, and more that can be accessed at any time. \nBob Dahm from Earthwise Organic Consulting LLC will be the expert presenter for this workshop. \nThis workshop is hosted by Vadnais Lake Area Watershed Management Organization. The workshop will cover selecting and siting native trees and shrubs\, designing a native plant garden\, pollinator-friendly maintenance practices\, and more. \nThis workshop is hosted by the City of Minneapolis in partnership with Minneapolis Community Education. You can register for this workshop through Minneapolis Community Ed. \nNote: The workshop will start at 6pm and go into breakout groups after a short presentation.
