Join us on Monday\, June 8th from 6:00-7:30 pm for an in-person Native Garden Maintenance Workshop in the Lynnhurst neighborhood. \nThis hands-on workshop led by Jen Ehlert of Metro Blooms Design+Build will cover practices for keeping your native plantings thriving\, and your native rain gardens functioning their best. Get guidance for identifying native plants\, managing weeds\, timing for garden maintenance activities throughout the year\, assessing rain garden functionality and more. \nThis workshop is hosted by the City of Minneapolis and the Lynnhurst Neighborhood. Our registration fee is based on a pay-what-you-can model. A suggested registration fee of $15 continues to support our programming\, while an amount over $15 supports workshop participants who are unable to afford the fee at this time.  \n  \nAccess Information: \n\nThis workshop will be hosted in-person\, outside in a residential yard with native plantings and rain gardens. We will spend time standing\, walking\, and practicing hands-on maintenance in the garden.\nGloves and hand tools will be provided; you are welcome to bring your own gardening tools\, folding chairs\, or anything else that will make you comfortable in the space. Whether you live on a shoreline or not\, this workshop will be a great opportunity to learn about Minnesota-native plants and how to care for a native plant garden. Come with your questions! Our expert presenters from Metro Blooms Design+Build will guide us through the garden and answer your questions using the planting as an example. \nThis workshop is hosted by the Rice Creek Watershed District. Registration fees for residents of Rice Creek Watershed District will be waived. Join us on August 13th from 6:00-7:30pm for an in-person Rain Garden Maintenance Workshop located at Aquila Park. \nThis hands-on workshop led by Metro Blooms landcare experts will cover practices for keeping your native plantings thriving\, and your rain gardens functioning their best. Get guidance for identifying native plants\, managing weeds\, timing for rain garden maintenance activities throughout the year\, assessing rain garden functionality and more. \nThis workshop is hosted by the City of St. Louis Park. \nAccess Information: \n\nThis workshop will be hosted in-person\, outside at the rain gardens adjacent to the Northeast parking lot near the Aquila park ball fields. We will spend time standing\, walking\, and practicing hands-on maintenance in the garden.\nGloves and hand tools will be provided; you are welcome to bring your own gardening tools\, folding chairs\, or anything else that will make you comfortable in the space. Light snacks and water will be available.\nParking may be available in the lot\, though there will also be games being played in the ball fields. Additional parking along the street is also available.\nThe nearest bus stop is at Minnetonka Blvd & Xylon Ave that is serviced by route 667.

Bring your questions or share with us ahead of time via email if there is a specific topic you are interested in hearing about. \nThis workshop is hosted by the Vadnais Lake Area Water Management Organization. Registration fees for residents of VLAWMO will be waived. We will spend time standing\, walking\, and practicing hands-on techniques in the garden.\nGloves and hand tools will be provided; you are welcome to bring your own gardening tools\, folding chairs\, kneeling pads or anything else that will make you comfortable in the space.
