Planting for Clean Water: Shorelines – Elm Creek WMC

May 19 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Free

Whether you live on one of our 10,000 lakes or you enjoy recreating on them, we all can play a part in stewarding healthy lakes, starting at the shoreline! The Planting for Clean Water: Shorelines Workshop covers the fundamentals for protecting water quality from the shore including: site assessments, rain gardens, types of upland and shoreline projects, plant selection tips, regulatory reminders, and more!

The workshop will include a 90 minute presentation given by Metro Blooms Design + Build staff alongside local water resource experts, followed by an opportunity to ask site specific questions, get expert advice and receive resources to install practices on your own property! Attendees of the workshop are eligible to sign up for a free on-site consultation with a landscape designer and receive grant funds for installing a shoreline project.

This workshop will focus on Rice, Weaver, and Cedar Lakes. We highly encourage community members living on these lakes or within their watersheds to sign up for this workshop.

This workshop is being hosted by the West Metro Watershed Alliance in partnership with Elm Creek Watershed Management Commission and the City of Maple Grove. This workshop is free for all attendees. In the sliding scale payment box below, simply change the default $15 amount to 0 for free registration.
