This area has lots of weed pressure from Quack Grass, Creeping Charlie, and Thistle. Normal black soil amended with compost and some shade from our neighbors fence and tree.My pocket planting was completed last summer with my LTL grant. I’ve learned that I should have paid closer attention to plant heights as I am having to move a few things this summer (and make my native garden larger, oh no! Ha!). Overall, I’m thrilled with how much larger my plants are this year and ecstatic to have blooms all season so far.
It can be really hard to envision a mature planting when your purchased plants are so small. I recommend a good weeding early in the season and then maintenance is easy!
