Gardener Comments
Mostly clay soils, high weed pressure from old hay fields. Invasive species are no joke. Predation from voles and deer are also a continuous problem. I have been trying to reintroduce native plants for over ten years now in my wildlife rehabilitation areas and it really makes me appreciate a pristine, high quality, biodiverse environment. Once an ecosystem is contaminated with non native plants and invasive species it is extremely difficult to return it back to a healthy productive state. Even though I still constantly battle invasive species and overpopulation of deer, reintroduction of native plants has substantially increased the biodiversity on the property where I live.
Wildlife Observed
Deer, voles, foxes, birds, bats, too many pollinators and other insects to name.
