It is on an unused acre, with rye grass weed pressure. Pure sunshine and excellent soil. I found the whole project easier than I expected. I did have to haul water weekly last year, as the spot is on a back acre. My only suggestion is talk to people who know this stuff! They love what they do and they do want you to be successful!
I used 4-5″ of mulch and that really keeps out the weed!
Wildlife Observed
Though many of my first year plants have not yet flowered, I have many types of bees and dragonflies, and a few monarchs already coming. We have deer that pass through, so I put up a fence I already owned.
