Six years of youth excellence in community building! Teenagers across Minneapolis come together at Beloved Community and have grown 55,000 pounds of free vegetables for their community. Teens built 200 garden beds and cultivated 30 neighbors yards into community gardens. Youth have made over 1,500 pieces of public art for their community, including 100 garage murals and 300 wood canvas paintings that tell stories of their hopes and dreams. We offer youth part time work in community building projects and have paid youth over $650,000 for the great work they do in their community.
We are proud of our Youth City Nature Learning programs like city Beekeeping, maple tapping, cooking and preserving foods we grow. Youth plant many fruit trees, Native plants, berries and flowers in their neighborhoods. The youth also does snow removal, study groups, and host events to keep active in their community year-round. Youth not only carry out these projects, but also lead them and are role models for all youth and adults in their community. Caring for one’s community and eveyone in it is our goal! Beauty, love, and justice is our way! Beloved Community.❣️
