Lawns to Legumes is exploring additional funding sources to offer more individual support grants in the future. At this time, we are not accepting applications. Enter your email below to be notified about future application periods.
Under Lawns to Legumes, Minnesota residents were eligible to apply for cost-share funding of up to $350 to create pollinator habitat in their yards. We completed two application rounds in 2020, the first year of the program. There were far more applicants than available funds, and we hope the program continues. You can add your contact information above for future updates.
If you simply want to plant for pollinators, Lawns to Legumes provides many free helpful resources. You can check our Lawns to Legumes page, our Grantee page, well as the Lawns to Legumes page on the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources website. You will find information on types of projects, including pocket gardens, pollinator lawns and meadows and planting trees and shrubs for pollinators, how to design your project, ideas for plants to use and a lot more.
The Lawns to Legumes program comes through the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources. Blue Thumb is BWSR’s partner for the individual support part of the program.
